Apply Item Assembly Structure Apply Item Assembly Structure You use the Apply Item Assembly Structure (IAS) action in the Assets (SP) and Locations (SP) applications to apply an assembly structure to a rotating asset or to an operating location. When you apply an IAS containing rotating and non-rotating items to an asset record, the non-rotating items are displayed on the Spare Parts tab of the asset record. If a rotating item in the Item Assembly Structure has child items, the children are also applied to the selected asset or location record.
You can also access the Apply Item Assembly Structure page in the Receiving application.
Display the asset to which you want to apply an item assembly structure.
From the Select Action menu, select Apply Item Assembly Structure.
To assign numbers to the rotating items in the Asset Hierarchy table window in the Apply Item Assembly Structure dialog box, perform either of the following actions:
To individually assign a value to each item:
Enter a value in the Asset field.
To number the next
item in the hierarchy, in the Item field, click Detail Menu 
and
select Move To. The next item in the hierarchy is displayed.
Repeat steps a and b until you have completed assigning numbers to all the items in the hierarchy.
To autonumber each rotating item displayed, click Autonumber All. All of the items in the first level of the hierarchy are autonumbered. If there are any children in the IAS hierarchy, they also are autonumbered..
Click OK. Click Cancel to return to the record without applying the item assembly structure to the asset.
Click Save Asset
