Associate a Hazard with an Asset

You can add hazards to asset and location records so that when you build safety plans in the Safety Plans application and then use those safety plans on work orders, the hazards associated with specific asset and locations will be included on the work order.

Before you can add a hazard to an asset record, the hazard must have already been defined in the Safety Hazards application.

To associate a hazard with an asset:

  1. Display the asset with which you want to associate a hazard.

  2. On the Safety tab, click the Hazards and Precautions subtab.

  3. Under the Hazards table window, click New Row.

  4. In the Hazard field, enter a hazard or click Detail Menu to select an option and retrieve a value. Only precaution-enabled hazards are displayed in the Select Value dialog box.

Note: If the hazard you selected has precautions associated with it, the system displays the precautions in the Precautions table window. The Precautions table is display-only. If the hazard is hazardous-material enabled, the system will also display the hazard, along with its hazardous material information, on the Hazardous Materials subtab of the Safety tab.

  1. Click Save Asset .
