Associate Services

You can associate one or more services with an asset. Some examples of services are e-mail support, telecommunications, customer support, and PC support.

One example of the benefits of associating services with assets is when such services are provided by a contractor or vendor and there are changes to that service. If you have associated assets with services, you can easily identify all the assets that will be affected by the change in service.  

To associate a service with an asset:

1. Display the asset with which you want to associate a service or service group.

2. From the Select Action menu, select Associate Services.

3. In the Associate Services dialog box, click New Row.

4. To associate a service group with the asset, in the Service Group field, enter a value or click Detail Menu to select an option and retrieve a value.

5. To select a service within the service group, in the Service field, enter a value or click Select Value and select a service.

Note: If you do not select a service group and you select a service that is associated with a service group, the system enters the service group in the Service Group field.

6. To delete any of the associations, select Mark Row for Delete . To cancel a deletion, select Undo Delete

7. To associate the service(s) and return to the record, click OK.

To not make the association(s), click Cancel.
