Customer match

The Customer Match field on the Specification table window indicates whether an attribute is appropriate for the primary customer or the parent of the primary customer.

When you add a classification to an asset, the attributes of the classification that are appropriate to the primary customer of the asset are copied to the Specifications table window on the Specifications Tab. The attributes that are copied are global attributes and customer-specific attributes that match the primary customer of the asset or the parent of the primary customer. If there is no primary customer when you classify the asset then only global attributes are copied.

After you add a classification to an asset, several events can take place that might cause the asset specification to be unaligned with the attributes on the classification. For example:

The Customer Match field can have the following values:

When all attributes are set to NO it typically indicates that the primary customer or its parent customer is not associated with the classification, or the asset has no primary customer and references a customer-specific classification.

If the Customer Match field has a value of NO, examine the attribute to see whether it is appropriate for the primary customer and classification, and whether you should change the specification on the asset, the classification, or if the asset is a rotating asset, the associated item.
