Features TabThe Features tab in the Assets (SP) application is displayed only if the IBM Maximo Linear Asset Manager license is installed. You use the Features tab to associate feature instances with linear assets. For example, depending on your business practices, you might associate mile posts, guard rails, traffic signs, and intersections with roads.
You primarily use feature instances to identify where features occur along a linear asset, both to perform work on them and to use them as reference points for describing other locations. For example, you might assign a work detail to a span of a road between its intersection with route 87 and exit 33.
The Features tab displays the entire span of the linear asset in the From and To fields at the top of the tab. The Features tab has two table windows:
Features: to associate feature instances with the linear asset.
Attributes: to specify attributes for the selected feature instance.
