You use the Issue Items from Storeroom dialog box to issue items to an asset when you are working in the Assets (SP) application. You also can use this dialog to return items from an asset to a storeroom.
For example, if you are configuring a laptop computer in the Assets (SP) application, you might need to issue software to it. Rather than opening the Inventory application to issue the software, you can use the Assets (SP) application to issue the software.
You can issue both rotating and non-rotating items, and you can issue items from different storerooms.
From the List tab in the Assets (SP) application, select the asset to which you want to issue items.
From the Select Actions menu, select Issue Items from Storeroom. The Issue Items from Storeroom dialog box opens. It contains an Associated Items table window and a Default section.
If desired, in the Default Table Data section, specify a default storeroom and/or storeroom site from which to issue items. The system inserts these values in the corresponding fields when you insert a row in the Associated Items table window.
When you open the Issue Items from Storeroom dialog box, the Site field shows the site for the asset. If your default storeroom (specified in your user profile) is in the same site, the Storeroom field displays that storeroom. Otherwise, the field is empty. You can change the values in both fields. You also can leave these fields empty.
In the Associated Items table window, click New Row. The system displays the row details.
In the Item field, enter the item you want to issue. Click the Detail Menu and choose Select Value to select an item.
The items that the system displays in the Select Value dialog box depend on the values in the Storeroom and Site fields, which you can modify from the default values, if any.
In the Storeroom field, specify a storeroom (you already might have specified a default value in Step 3).
Note: You can enter an item first and find a storeroom, or enter a storeroom first and select an item, but you must specify a storeroom.
In the Quantity field, enter the number of items that you want to issue.
In the Transaction Type field, select ISSUE if you are issuing the item to the asset, or RETURN, if you are returning it to a storeroom.
Specify other values as needed:
Depending on the item, you might be able to specify a bin, lot, work order and other values.
If you use GL accounts, you must specify them fully.
Click the Close Details button or click New Row to add other item to be issued to the same asset.
After you finish adding items to the Associated Items table window, click OK. The system issues the items to the asset (or, if you specified RETURN as the transaction type, returns them to the storeroom).
