View Comparison Rule Results

You use the Asset Reconciliation Result tab in the Asset Reconciliation Results (SP) application to view comparison rule results.

A comparison rule is a component of a reconciliation task. It defines how to compare objects or attributes of a child or parent object in one data set (typically authorized assets) with a child or parent in another data set (typically deployed assets) when the system executes a reconciliation task. The comparison rule results that the system displays in the Asset Reconciliation Results (SP) application depend on the parameter that you select in the Comparison Results field when you define a reconciliation task. You can choose one of the following display options for comparison results:

• all results, both successful and failed matches

• instances where the object and attribute of the authorized asset failed to match the deployed asset

• instances where the object and attribute of the authorized asset successfully matched the deployed asset

The Asset Reconciliation Results (SP) application displays both comparison rule results and link rule results. If you want to view only comparison rule results, you can use the advanced search feature on the List tab to select only comparison results.

To view comparison rule results:

1. On the List tab in the Asset Reconciliation Results (SP) application, click Advanced Search. The application displays the Advanced Search menu.

2. On the Advanced Search menu, select More Search Fields. The application displays the More Search Fields dialog box.

3. In the Result Type field, click Select Value to select the type of result that you want to view. The application displays the Select Value dialog box.

4. In the Select Value dialog box, select COMPARISON. The application displays the selected value in the Result Type field on the More Search Fields dialog box.

5. On the More Search Fields dialog box, click Find.  The application displays comparison results in Asset Reconciliation Results table window on the List tab.

6. To open a record, click the underlined record identifier in the Reconciliation Name column. The application displays the result record on the Asset Reconciliation Result tab. For more information about the results displayed on this tab, see Reconciliation Result Tab.
