Apply a Response Plan

You apply a response plan to a change in the Changes (SP) application. When you apply a response plan, you ensure predictable and repeatable responses to similar changes.

A response plan can specify the response actions and notifications that are performed for the change. It also can assign an owner and vendor and apply a job plan to the change.

Prerequisites

To apply a response plan to a change:

  1. In the Changes (SP) application, display the record to which you want to apply a response plan.

  2. From the Select Action menu, select Apply Response Plan. The response plan is applied, overwriting an existing response plan if one exists on the change. The change fields are updated with data from the associated field in the applied response plan. The actions and notifications specified in the response plan are carried out.

The response plan does not overwrite job plan data that exists in the change. If the change contains a job plan or a work plan, or if the job plan on the response plan is invalid for the change, either the response plan is applied without the job plan, or the entire response plan is not applied. This is determined by the setting in the Stop Response Plan if Job Plan or Ticket Template can not be applied field on the response plan.

  3. Click Save Record . The identifier of the response plan is visible in the Response Plan field on the main tab. You can view a history response plans that have been added to the change.
