You can create a release from a change. The system copies the asset, location, and GL account information from the originating record to the release.

When you create a release from within a change, the release has a relationship type of Follow Up and the change from which you created the release has a relationship type of Originator.

To create a release:

  1. Display the record from which you want to create a release.

  2. From the Select Action menu, select Create > Release. The system creates the release and gives it a status of WAPPR.

  3. To view the release, click the Related Records tab. The release you created is displayed in the Related Work Orders table.

Note: You also can view the release in the Releases (SP) application. When you display the record in the Releases (SP) application, the change from which you created the record is displayed in the Work Order field on the Related Records tab.
