View CI Relationship History

Configuration items (CIs) are related to other CIs as defined on the Related CIs tab. A CI can be a source or target with respect to a relationship with another CI. In the course of change and configuration management, there is a history of relationships for a configuration item.

You use the View CI Relationship History dialog box to view how the current CI record is related to other CIs at any point in history. The dialog box is for viewing only. You cannot edit fields.

To view CI relationship history:

  1. In the Configuration Items (SP) application, display the CI for which you want to view CI relationship history.

  2. From the Select Action menu, select View CI Relationship History. The View CI Relationship History dialog box opens and displays the history of the CI as both a source and target, using the current date.

  3. To view history at a different date and time, click Select Date and Time in the As of field. Select a different value and press the Tab key. The dialog box displays only the relationships that existed at the specified date and time. The Start Date field shows the date on which the relationship started. The End Date field shows when the relationship ended, and is empty if the relationship is still current.

  4. When you are finished viewing the CI relationship history, click OK.
