View Link Rule Failure Results

You use the CI Reconciliation Result tab in the CI Reconciliation Results (SP) application to view link rule failure results.

A link rule is a required component of a reconciliation task. A link rule establishes the basis for reconciliation by identifying a top-level authorized configuration item (CI) object and attribute to link to a specific attribute of an actual CI object. When the system processes a reconciliation task, it evaluates each link rule and attempts to match the authorized CI object and attribute defined in the rule with the actual CI attribute defined in the rule. If the system finds a match, it displays the link result in the CI Link Results (SP) application. If the system does not find a match or finds multiple matches, it displays link rule failures in the CI Reconciliation Results (SP) application.

The CI Reconciliation Results (SP) application displays both comparison rule results and link rule results. If you want to view only link rule failures, you can use the Select Value feature in the Result Type field on the List tab to select only link results.

Note: For more information about using advanced search features, see Use More Search Fields.
