Associate Classifications with Record Types

You modify a "Use With" setting in the Classifications application by clicking its check box. This toggles the selection on or off. These settings are a filter used to determine

• Which records the classification can be applied to

• Which “select value” dialog boxes the classification will appear in.

The Use With selections can be changed, but you must follow these rules:

• You cannot set a node for the child of a parent that does not have the node set.

• You can clear the node for a child of a parent that does have the node set, but any children below it will also be cleared.

• You cannot remove a node for a classification if it or its children are using the node.

• When you insert a classification as a child, it inherits its parent's nodes.
