Add/Modify AttributesUse the Attributes dialog box in the Classifications (SP) application to add new attributes or modify existing attributes. This method lets you add many attributes, and then associate them with classifications. You can use attributes with many objects, such as assets, locations, and items.
Go to the Classifications tab.
From the Select Action menu, select Add/Modify Properties > Attributes. The Attributes dialog box opens.
Click New Row in the Attributes area of the Classifications tab.
Enter an attribute name, which must be unique.
If the attribute already exists for that specification template, you receive a warning: The combination of Attribute XXX and Section YYY already exists for this classification.
Enter a description for the attribute.
Enter a value in the Unit of Measure field or click Select Value to view a list of valid units of measure.
Enter a type (ALN, Numeric, or Table) in the Data Type field or click Select Value to view a list of valid data types.
Enter a section in the Section field.
Enter a domain in the Domain field or click Select Value to view a list of valid domains.
If appropriate, enter a prefix in the Prefix field.
Enter a site in the Site field and an organization in the Organization field as necessary.
Repeat this process for each attribute that you want to add.
Click OK to save the attributes.
Find the attribute you want to modify in one of two ways:
Page through the list of attributes
OR
Enter an attribute in the Filter area, and press <Enter>
Edit the appropriate fields.
Click OK to save your changes.
Find and highlight the attribute you want to delete.
Click Mark Row For Delete .
If you are using the attribute, you receive a warning: The attribute exists on a specification and cannot be deleted.
Repeat this process for each attribute that you want to delete.
Click OK to delete the attributes.
