Use attributes with objects

When you classify an object, attributes of the classification can be copied to the specification table of the record for the object. The attributes that are copied depend on whether they are associated with the object that you classify.

For example, if the WORKORDER object is set for all attributes of a classification then global attributes are copied to the specification table of a work order record. In applications with a customer or primary customer field, customer-specific attributes are copied to the specification table of a record if the customer or its parent is associated with the attribute.

You use the Use with Object Detail dialog box to associate attributes with objects.

To Open the Use With Object Detail dialog box:

  1. Go to the Classifications tab of the Classifications (SP) application.

  2. In the Attributes area, click Use with Object Detail on the right side of the row for the attribute whose details you want to enter.
