Working with AttributesYou use an attribute to group the characteristics of a classification. The data type of an attribute can be either alphanumeric, numeric, or table. You can use attributes with many objects, such as assets, locations, and items.
For example, for a classification of pump, you can have an attribute of horsepower. For a classification path of COMPUTER\PROBLEM, you can have an attribute of MEMORY SIZE.
When you have an attribute, you can use a domain to define it further, but you do not have to have a domain.
You can tailor the attributes of a classification for each object with which you want to use it. To do so, use the Use With Object Detail dialog box. You can access this dialog box by clicking Use with Object Detail in the Attributes area of the Classifications tab.
