Comparison Rule TabYou use the Comparison Rule tab in the Comparison Rules (SP) application in the Reconciliation module to create new comparison rules; view, modify, or duplicate existing comparison rules; and delete comparison rules.
A comparison rule defines how to compare objects or attributes of a child or parent object in one data set with a child or parent in another data set when the system executes a reconciliation task. Comparison rules are optional components of a reconciliation task, and a task can include more than one comparison rule.
The Comparison Rule tab includes the following information about a comparison rule:
Comparison unique name that identifies the comparison rule
comparison rule description
Customer: The customer associated with the comparison rule.
The Full CI Comparison section includes the following information about a comparison rule:
Full CI Comparison check box that you can use to specify a full CI comparison reconciliation. You cannot use this option in combination with the data set filters, matches found, or attributes equality functions. If you select this option, the application disables those subtabs and they are read-only. For more information about this feature, see Create a Full CI Comparison Rule.
The Type of Reconciliation section includes the following information about the data sets selected for the comparison task:
Data Set 1 first data set in the comparison; typically specifies an authorized data set: ASSET or CI (configuration item).
Data Set 2 second data set in the comparison; typically displays the discovered data set that corresponds to the value selected in Data Set 1. If you select ASSET for Data Set 1, the application displays DEPLOYED ASSET. If you select CI for Data Set 1, it displays ACTUAL CI.
The Comparison Rule tab displays the following subtabs:
Data Set 1 Filter Subtab: to define filter clauses that specify a subset of Data Set 1 objects to reconcile against Data Set 2 objects when you use a comparison rule.
Data Set 2 Filter Subtab: to define filter clauses that specify a subset of Data Set 2 objects to reconcile against Data Set 1 objects when you use a comparison rule.
Matches Found Subtab: to define matches found clauses that specify the ratio of Data Set 1 object instances to Data Set 2 object instances to look for in the comparison.
Attributes Equality Subtab: to define attributes equality clauses that specify how to compare attribute or attributes of a child or parent object in Data Set 1 with a specific attribute or attributes of a child or parent object in Data Set 2.
