Requirements for Comparison Rules

A comparison rule defines how to compare objects or attributes of a child or parent object in one data set with a child or parent in another data set when the system executes a reconciliation task. You use the Comparison Rules (SP) application to create comparison rules you can add to a reconciliation task.

Before you can save a new comparison rule that you created or an existing comparison rule that you modified, you must satisfy the following requirements:

Note: If you enter sequence numbers in random order, the system sorts the clauses and displays them in ascending numerical order when you save the record.

Note: Full configuration item (CI) comparison rules are a special kind of comparison rule that let you compare CI relationships and their associated attributes. You cannot use full CI comparison rules in combination with data set filters, matches found, or attributes equality components described in various sections of this document.. This function applies only to customers who install Change and Configuration Management Database (CCMDB). For more information about the requirements for full CI comparisons, see Create a Full CI Comparison Rule.
