Communication TabYou use the Communication tab in the Computers (SP) application to view information about communication devices (modems) installed on a computer in your organization.
The Communication tab displays the following information about the selected computer:
computer name
computer description
the site at which the computer is located
role or function of the computer (The role is assigned to the computer by the discovery tool.)
The Communication tab displays the following subtabs:
Network Adapters: to view information about network adapters on the selected computer.
Communication Devices: to view information about communication devices (such as modems) on the selected computer.
Data displayed on this tab varies depending on the discovery tool used to collect the data. Some data fields might be empty. An empty field indicates that the discovery tool did not collect the data or that administrators did not map the data for import into the database.
Data displayed in some fields is affected by parameters your administrator defines in administrative applications. Administrative applications determine how to display manufacturer names and make or model names of network adapters and communication devices.
For information about a field, place the cursor in the field and press Alt+F1.
