Network Adapters Subtab

You use the Network Adapters subtab of the Communication tab in the Computers (SP) application to view information about network adapters on computers installed in your organization.

The Network Adapters subtab displays a table window with the following information about the network adapters installed on the selected computer:

• adapter type

• manufacturer

• make/model

You can select a network adapter listed in the table window and expand the row to show the following details for the selected network adapter:

• adapter type

• adapter description

• serial number

• asset tag

• manufacturer

• make/model

• MAC Address 1 (The Media Access Control address uniquely identifies each node of a network.)

• MAC Address 2

• bandwidth

• communication port for the adapter

• protocol for the adapter (for example, Ethernet or wireless)

• chipset

• firmware version

For information about a field, place the cursor in the field and press Alt+F1.
