Suites Subtab

You use the Suites subtab of the Software tab in the Computers (SP) application to view information about software suites installed on computers in your organization.

Information about software applications on deployed assets is collected by a discovery tool, either IBM Tivoli Configuration Manager or another discovery tool, and imported into the Maximo database using Integration Composer. The discovery tools used to collect data about deployed software applications typically collect information only about individual software applications, not software suites. System administrators use an administrative application, the Software Suite Setup application, to specify which software applications belong to a software suite.

Software suite identification is a background process that is executed based on a schedule set up in the Cron Task Setup application. When the software suite cron task is run, it uses the definitions in the Software Suite Setup application to identify software suites and update software suite information. Additions, changes, and deletions made to software suite setup records are applied when the cron task is executed. Consequently, reliability of software suite data depends on how frequently the cron task for software suite identification is run.

The Suites subtab displays a table window with the following information about each software application suite installed on the selected computer:

Administrators assign a version number to a software suite when defining the components of the suite.

You can select a software application suite in the table window and expand the row to show the following details for the selected suite:
