How the System Validates EscalationsHow the System Validates EscalationsThe system validates the SQL contents of the condition statements in the escalation's header and in each escalation point. The system's validation process checks to ensure that the SQL statements in the Condition and Escalation Point Condition fields are syntactically and semantically correct.
The system validates these conditions every time you activate an escalation. You can also manually run the validation process by selecting the Validate action from the Select Action menu.
If any of the conditions in the escalation contain errors, the system displays a message informing you that the validation failed and to check the Validation table for errors. You expand the Validation Results table window to see a description of each error. If the error was found in the condition for an escalation point, the system highlights the row(s) to let you know which escalation point(s) had an error.
The system does not validate actions or notifications.
