A global incident is an incident that is the root cause of many other issues or that is something affecting many users. A global record might have many other records related to it. Only incident or problem records can be global records.

The indicator, or flag, for whether an incident is a global issue is on the Incident tab of that record; the Is Global? check box is selected on a global record. The indicator for whether an incident is related to a global record is on the Incident tab of that record; the Related to Global ID field displays the global record to which this record is related.
