Delete an Item Record

You use the Item Master (SP) application to delete an item record. When you delete an item record, you are also deleting the associated inventory record, specification record, vendor record, and item assembly structure record.

You cannot delete an item record from the database if any of the following conditions exist:

• the item is associated with an asset

• the item is listed on a master preventative maintenance record

• the item is listed as a spare part

• If the item has inventory and the inventory is:

–  referenced on a job plan

–  being reserved in a given storeroom location

–  being planned for a work order

–  included in a material requisition, purchase requisition, or purchase order

• the item has a balance in a storeroom

• at least one storeroom bin balance is not reconciled

To delete an item record:

1. Display the item record you want to delete.

2. From the Select Action menu, select Delete Item.

3. Click Yes to confirm the delection.

4. Click OK.
