Link Rule TabYou use the Link Rule tab in the Link Rules (SP) application in the Reconciliation module to create new link rules; view, duplicate, or modify existing link rules; and delete link rules.
A link rule is a required component of a reconciliation task. A link rule establishes the basis for reconciliation by identifying a top-level object and attribute in Data Set 1 to link to a specific attribute of a top-level object in Data Set 2. A reconciliation task can have one or more link rules. When the system executes the reconciliation task, it evaluates each link rule and attempts to match the object in Data Set 1 with the object in Data Set 2.
The Link Rule tab displays the following information about a link rule:
Link unique name to identify the link rule
link rule description
Customer: The customer associated with the link rule.
The Type of Reconciliation section displays the following information about the data set selected for the reconciliation task:
Data Set 1 first data set in the reconciliation; typically specifies an authorized data set: ASSET or CI (configuration item)
Data Set 2 second data set in the reconciliation; typically displays the discovered data set that corresponds to the authorized data set selected in Data Set 1. If you select ASSET for Data Set 1, it displays DEPLOYED ASSET. If you select CI, it displays ACTUAL CI.
The Link Clauses table window displays one or more link clauses that specify which object in Data Set 1 and which object in Data Set 2 to link. The table window displays the following information for each link rule clause.
Note: The rows in the Link Clauses table window display selected fields for each clause. To view all fields for a clause, select a row and click View Details .
