Modify a Link Rule

You use the Link Rule tab in the Link Rules (SP) application to modify an existing link rule. You can change the data in the description field or in fields on existing link rule clauses, add new link rule clauses, or delete link rule clauses. You cannot modify the name in the Link field or the customer in the Customer field.

When you save a modified link clause, the system evaluates the link rule to determine whether the clauses are valid expressions; if a clause is not valid, the system displays an error message and does not save the link rule.

To modify a link rule clause:

1. On the List tab in the Link Rules (SP) application, click a row to select the link rule that you want to change. The system displays the selected link rule on the Link Rule tab.

2. If appropriate, to change the value in the description field, select the field and retype the description.

3. To add a new link rule clause, change data in an existing clause, or delete a clause, select one of the following options:

• To add a new link rule clause, see Add a New Link Rule Clause.

• To change data in an existing link rule clause, see Change Existing Link Rule Clauses.

• To delete a link rule clause, see Delete a Link Rule Clause.

• When you complete all modifications to the link rule, click Save Link Rule  to save the modified link rule.
