Use the Location tab of the Locations (SP) application to create locations, organize them into systems, associate them with a service address, and associate them with customers. Perform the following tasks on the Location tab:
Create different types of locations, such as operating, labor, courier, salvage, vendor, and repair.
Organize locations into hierarchy or network systems. You can build a location hierarchy for all the operating locations in your plant or in an office complex. This type of location hierarchy lets you track an asset as it moves between locations within your plant or between offices. It also lets you keep a history of the breakdowns and work orders at specific operating locations and against specific assets.
Associate locations with a service address. A service desk often uses a service address to identify one or more locations where it provides services or performs work. You can organize locations associated with service addresses into a hierarchical address system.
Associate locations with one or more of your service customers. A system process can match data on the combination of location and customer to apply a response plan, service level agreement, or agreement price schedule to work for that location.
