Device Cards TabYou use the Device Cards tab in the Network Devices (SP) application to view information about cards, such as Ethernet or Token Ring cards, that are installed on network devices.
Note: Data displayed in the Network Devices (SP) application varies depending on the discovery tool used to collect the data. Some data fields in the application may be empty. An empty field indicates that data was not collected by the discovery tool or that administrators did not map the data for import into the database.
This tab displays the following information about the network device on which the device cards are installed:
device name
device description
the site at which the device is located
role or function of the device (The role is assigned to the device by the collection tool.)
The Device Cards tab displays a table window with the following information about each device card installed on the network device:
device type
manufacturer
make/model
You can select a device card listed in the table window and expand the row to show the following details for the selected device card:
device type
device description
serial number
asset tag
manufacturer
make/model
network address (usually the TCP/IP address)
MAC address, the Media Access Control address that uniquely identifies each node of a network
source identifier
chipset
firmware version
bandwidth
bandwidth unit of measurement
RAM size
RAM size unit of measurement
