Delete a Network Printer

You use the Network Printer tab in the Network Printers (SP) application to delete a network printer record from the database.

On the List tab you can delete selected network printer records or all network printer records in the table window. You can also select a record, view it, and delete it from the Network Printer tab.

If you delete a network printer record but your discovery tool detects the same printer again in subsequent scans, a record is created again when network printer data is imported into the database.

If a network printer record in the Network Printers (SP) application corresponds to a printer listed in the Link Results (SP) application, deleting the network printer record from the Network Printers (SP) application also deletes the result record in the Link Results (SP) application.

To delete network printer records from the List tab:

In the Network Printers (SP) application, on the List tab, select one of the following options:

• To delete all network printer records retrieved in the table window:

1. From the Select Action menu, select Delete Network Printer(s). The application displays a confirmation dialog box asking you to confirm that you want to delete all rows.

2. On the deletion confirmation dialog box, click Yes. The application deletes all network printers in the table window.

• To delete selected network printer records:

Note: You cannot use this feature unless your result set is less than 200 rows.

1. To select specific network printer records, select the Select Records check box at the bottom of the List tab table window. The application displays a Select Row check box next to each row in the table window.

2. In the List table window, click the Select Row check box for each record that you want to delete.

3. After you have selected the check box for each record that you want to delete, select Delete Network Printer(s) from the Select Action menu. The application displays a confirmation dialog box asking you to confirm that you want to delete selected rows.

4. On the deletion confirmation dialog box, click Yes. The application deletes the selected network printer record or records.

To delete a network printer from the Network Printer tab:

1. In the Network Printers (SP) application, on the List tab, click the network printer record that you want to delete. The application displays the selected network printer record on the Network Printer tab.

2. From the Select Action menu, select Delete Network Printer(s).

3. On the deletion confirmation dialog box, click Yes to delete the network printer record.
