Specify System SettingsYou use the System Settings dialog box to specify several system defaults. System settings apply to all sites and all organizations.
From the Select Action menu in the Organizations (SP) application, select System Settings. The System Settings dialog box opens.
In the Calendar section, enter a start date and end date. These dates will be the default when you insert a new calendar.
In the GL Configuration section, enter a character in the Character to Display for Unspecified GL Components field. The system uses this character to represent unspecified GL components in an account code, for example, the question mark character in 2000-???-245.
In the Classification Catalog section, enter a character in the Delimiter in Asset Descriptions field. The system uses this character to separate components in an asset description.
In the Timer section, if the Confirm Time Calculated by Timer? check box is selected (the default), then the system confirms with the user the time calculated by the timer before recording it. Clear the check box if you do not want the system to confirm the time. Times can be used, for example, to calculate the amount of time spent working on a ticket.
In the People section, click the appropriate button to show how you want the system to show people's names in Display Name fields, such as in the People (SP) and Users applications.
In the IT Options section, specify the IT asset and CI classes that you want to be the top levels for reconciliation. The reconciliation engine runs against the IT asset and CI classes you specify here, including all the descendents of each class. To specify these classes, you can use the IT Asset and CI Top-Level Class fields or the IT and CI Class Structure ID fields.
Click OK.
