Create a Person RecordYou can use the People (SP) application to create records for individuals.
Because personal information is contained on people, labor, and user records, you can also create person records in the Labor and Users applications. Some information in the person record is stored in database columns that are shared with the Labor and Users applications. The data in these shared fields can be entered or modified from any of these three applications.
A person record cannot be duplicated regardless of the status of the record.
In the People
(SP) application, click New Person
. If the Person
field is empty, type a unique person identifier in this field.
Type the employee and workplace-related information for this person.
Note: You can type a nickname in the Display Name field. For example, someone named 'William' might want to be known as 'Bill.' However, if you change either the First Name or Last Name field, these changes overwrite the nickname in the Display Name field.
If one of your customers or vendors employs this person, enter the appropriate information in the Cust/Vendor field. If the Cust/Vendor field is empty, the Cust/Vendor Type field is set to Internal.
If appropriate, you can enter Workflow and work order information, important dates, and procurement card details for the individual.
Click Save Person
.
