Duplicate a Problem

You might wish to duplicate a problem or a problem and its child activities. If the problem does not have child activities, the system simply duplicates the problem. If the problem does have child activities, the system displays a dialog box in which you specify which to duplicate.

You might need security authorization to perform this action.

To duplicate a problem that does not have child activities:

  1. From the Select Action menu, select Duplicate Problem.

    A message appears confirming the duplication.

To duplicate a problem that has child activities:

  1. From the Select Action menu, select Duplicate Problem.

    The system displays the Duplicate Record dialog box.

  2. Select one of the following actions:

Information not duplicated

The following types of information are not copied to the duplicate problem:
 

  • Related records

  • Information about global problems

  • Log entries

  • Information about the originating record

  • Date fields

  • Failure information other than Failure Class and Problem Code
