About Locations on ReleasesIn the Releases (SP) application, you can add a location to a release to specify where you provide services. If the added location is associated with a primary customer, the customer is associated with the release. If the added location is associated with a service address, the service address is added to the release.
After you add a location to a release, the primary customer for the location is associated with the release. The status of the primary customer must be active. You cannot add a location to a release if the primary customer for the location is not active. For information about primary customers, see the Locations (SP) help.
The customer charge account and customer cost center for the location are added to the release.
The service address for the location is added to the release. See the service address on the Service Address tab. For more information about associating a location and service address, see the Locations (SP) help.
A location can be added for an asset that you add to the Asset field, if there is a location associated with the asset.
To apply a customer agreement or price schedule to the release, the location that you add must have an active, primary customer associated with it.
The service address for the new location is copied to the release.
You might have modified the service address for the location that you replaced. If so, a dialog box is displayed, giving you the choice to keep the modified service address or use the service address of the new location.
The new location might be associated with a different customer than was associated with the original location. If so, you can change the location only if you first remove the customer agreement applied to the release.
The customer charge account and customer cost center for the new location are copied to the release.
For information about the association between a service address and a location, see the Locations (SP) help.
