Duplicate a Release

You can duplicate a release with the Duplicate Release action. If the release has tasks or a hierarchy, you can duplicate the release with or without its tasks or with its hierarchy. If you choose to duplicate the release hierarchy, you duplicate all the children and tasks below it.

When you duplicate a release, you duplicate an applied job plan.

You do not duplicate the following information:

• work actuals

• failure reports

• planned moves or modifications

• an applied customer agreement

• an applied price schedule and price transactions

• response plan

• revision information

• current quote type and quoted amount

• purchase order information

• bill batch and billing information

To duplicate a release:

1. In the Releases (SP) application, display the release you want to duplicate.

2. From the Select Action menu, select Duplicate Release to open the Duplicate Record dialog box. In the dialog box, duplication options, based upon the current release, are displayed.

3. Choose one of the following options:

5. Duplicate Release With its Tasks

6. Duplicate Release Hierarchy

4. Click OK to duplicate the record. The duplicated release is displayed with a new identifier.

To return to the record without duplicating it, click Cancel.
