Reconciliation Task TabYou use the Reconciliation Task tab in the Reconciliation Tasks (SP) application to create a reconciliation task that you can schedule to run using the Cron Task Setup application. A task specifies one or more link rules for the reconciliation; it can also include a task filter and one or more comparison rules, but those components are optional.
The Reconciliation Task tab displays the following information about a task:
Reconciliation Task: unique name to identify the reconciliation task
reconciliation task description
Filter Type: type of task filter associated with the reconciliation task
Task Filter: name of the task filter for the reconciliation task. The customer on the task filter and the customer in the Customer field must be the same. If there is no customer in the Customer field, you can only select from task filters that are not associated with a customer. If there is a customer in the Customer field, then the list of task filters that you can select in the Task Filter field is restricted so that you can only select task filters that are associated with that customer.
Last Completion Date: date and time that this reconciliation task was last completed. The system updates this read-only field when it completes a reconciliation task.
Comparison Results: type of results to add to the Asset Reconciliation Results or CI Reconciliation Results (SP) application. The field is active only if you define a comparison rule.
Customer: the customer for which the reconciliation task is being created. This can be the customer who owns the assets or configuration items (CIs), or on whose behalf the service provider discovers the assets and CIs. A customer associated with any task filters, link rules, or comparison rules that you apply to the reconciliation task must match the customer that you are setting up the reconciliation task for. If you specify a customer, you can only select task filters, link rules, or comparison rules that are associated with that customer. If you do not specify a customer, you can only select task filters, link rules, and comparison rules are not associated with a customer.
Is Case Sensitive: check box that specifies whether or not the reconciliation task is case sensitive
Note: Selecting the check box makes all elements of the reconciliation task case sensitive, including the task filter and any link rules and comparison rules associated with the task.
The Type of Reconciliation section displays the following information about the data set selected for the reconciliation task:
Data Set 1 first data set in the reconciliation; typically specifies an authorized data set: ASSET or CI (configuration item).
Data Set 2 second data set in the reconciliation; typically displays the discovered data set that corresponds to the value selected in Data Set 1. If you select ASSET for Data Set 1, the application displays DEPLOYED ASSET. If you select CI for Data Set 1, it displays ACTUAL CI.
The Link Rules table window displays the following information about the link rules used in the reconciliation task:
Sequence sequence number to specify the order in which to process the link rule when multiple link rules exist
Link unique name to identify the link rule. The customer on the link rule and the customer in the Customer field must be the same. If there is no customer in the Customer field, you can only select from link rules that are not associated with a customer. If there is a customer in the Customer field, then the list of link rules that you can select in the Link field is restricted so that you can only select link rules that are associated with that customer.

Data Set 1 first data set in the reconciliation; typically specifies the authorized data set in the link rule: assets or CIs
Data Set 2 second data set in the reconciliation; typically specifies the discovered data set in the link rule: deployed assets or actual CIs
You can use the Select Link Rule button in the Link Rules table window to select one or more link rules for a reconciliation task. Selecting this button opens a dialog box that lists link rules that you have created and that belong to the customer in the Customer field, or do not belong to a customer, if there is no customer in the Customer field.
The Comparison Rules table window displays the following information about the comparison rules used in the reconciliation task:
Comparison unique name to identify the comparison rule. The customer on the comparison rule and the customer in the Customer field must be the same. If there is no customer in the Customer field, you can only select from comparison rules that are not associated with a customer. If there is a customer in the Customer field, then the list of comparison rules that you can select in the Comparison field is restricted so that you can only select comparison rules that are associated with that customer.

You can use the Select Comparison Rule button in the Comparison Rules table window to select one or more comparison rules for a reconciliation task. Selecting this button opens a dialog box that lists comparison rules that you have created and that belong to the customer in the Customer field, or do not belong to a customer, if there is no customer in the Customer field.
From the Reconciliation Task tab, you can click Detail Menu (indicated by the icon) next to the Task Filter, Link, and Comparison fields to select one of the following options:
Open a Select Value dialog box to choose from a set of existing task filters, link rules, or comparison rules.
Go to the selected application. Once you are in the application, you can create a new task filter, link rule, or comparison rule; or you can select an existing record and modify it. You can return the value to the Reconciliation Tasks (SP) application. You can also return to the Reconciliation Tasks (SP) application without selecting a value.
For information about a field, place the cursor in the field and press Alt+F1.
