Task Filter ComponentsTask Filter ComponentsA task filter record specifies a subset of objects that you want to evaluate when you execute a reconciliation task. You create task filters in the Task Filters (SP) application in the Reconciliation module.
A task filter includes the following components:
In the Filter field, you specify a unique name for the task filter.
Description of the task filter.
In the Filter Type field, you select a type for the task filter. The type that you select determines which set of objects the filter applies to.
For assets, you can select either Asset or Deployed Asset.
For configuration items, you can select either CI or Actual CI.
A task filter can apply to either type of object, but not both.
The customer associated with the task filter. This field is used to limit the records included when a reconciliation task is processed. If you specify a customer, you can apply the task filter only to reconciliation tasks created for that customer. If you do not specify a customer, you can apply the task filter only to reconciliation tasks that are not associated with a customer.
In the Task Filter Clauses table window, you must define at least one clause that specifies an attribute and a value for the task filter. You can create multiple attribute clauses for a task filter.
If you create multiple clauses that specify different attributes, the system processes the clauses using logical AND between the clauses. For example, if you set up a task filter for deployed assets based on the Site and Role attributes, the system selects only assets at the specified site with the specified role; both criteria must be met.
If you create multiple clauses for the same attribute, the system processes the clauses using logical OR between clauses. For example, if you create a task filter for assets with two filter clauses for Site, one for Boston and one for New York, the system selects records that have either Boston or New York as a site.
To specify an attribute, you select from a predefined value list. The values in the list depend on the type of object that you select in the Filter Type field.
