Authorize a Group's Access to Labor Information

You use the Labor tab in the Security Groups (SP) application to authorize a group's access to labor information. This includes not only labor records (access to which you normally control by limiting access to the Labor application), but also records that have labor information on them. For example, a work order might have labor information, including pay rates, that you do not want some users to see.

To authorize a group's access to labor information:

  1. On the List tab, select the group for which you want to authorize labor information.

  2. Click the Labor tab.

  3. If you want the group to have access to all labor, select the Authorize Group for All Labor? check box in the Labor Authorization section.

If you select this check box, the system prevents you from making any other selections (and there is no need to since the group already has access to all labor). If you have previously selected other check boxes or entered individual labor, and then select the Authorize Group for All Labor? check box, the system clears the other fields.

  1. If you want the group to have access to a more limited set of records, make sure the Authorize Group for All Labor? check box is cleared and then specify other labor by selecting check boxes as needed in the Labor Authorization section:

  1. Their Same Crew

  2. Their Same Person Group

  3. Labor They Supervise

  4. Their Own Labor

  1. If you want to give the group access to individual labor records, click New Row in the Individual Labor Authorization table window. The Row Details open.

  2. In the Organization field, enter a value or click Detail Menu to select an option and retrieve a value.

  3. In the Labor field, enter a value or click Detail Menu to select an option and retrieve a value. If you use the Select Value dialog box, it lists labor only from the specified organization.

Note: You can enter a value in the Labor field first, in which case the Select Value dialog box lists labor from all organizations, including those of the same name in different organizations. After you select the labor, the system fills in the Organization field automatically.

Note: You can only enter labor records that your user ID allows you to access.

  1. Insert additional rows and add storerooms as needed.

  1. Click Close Details .

  2. Click Save Group .
