Set Global Data RestrictionsSet Global Data RestrictionsYou use the Global Data Restrictions action in the Select Action menu to set restrictions, using an SQL-style expression or a class file, on exactly which records can be accessed in the system.
In the Security Groups (SP) application, choose Global Data Restrictions from the Select Action menu. The Global Data Restrictions dialog box appears.
Click on either the Object Restrictions tab or the Attribute Restrictions tab, depending on which type of restriction you wish to set.
In the table window below the tabs, click New Row. The Row Details open.
In the Object field, enter a value or click
Select Value 
to select from a list.
The object is the table or view on which you set the restriction. In the
Attribute Restrictions sub-tab, you can also specify the particular attribute
you would like to restrict.
In the Application field, select the application to apply the restriction to. Leave it blank for the restriction to apply to all applications that use the object or attribute.
In the Type field, select the type of restriction you wish to set.
Check the Reevaluate? box if you want the system to reevaluate the restriction condition when a user tabs away from a field. If not, leave it blank.
Note: If you leave the Reevaluate? box empty, the system will still reevaluate restriction conditions, but only after you save the changes you make to a field.
In the Condition field, click Detail Menu and choose either Select Value to pick from a list of existing expressions, or Conditional Expression Manager to manage your existing expressions. For more information on building conditional expressions, see Conditional Expression Manager online help.
Note: You can create a new conditional expression by using the Conditional Expression Manager application.
Click New
Row to add additional global restrictions, or click Save Group
to apply your changes.
