About Locations on Sales OrdersIn the Sales Orders (SP) application, you can add a location to a sales order to specify where you provide services. If the added location is associated with a primary customer, the customer is associated with the sales order. If the added location is associated with a service address, the service address is added to the sales order.
After you add a location to a sales order, the primary customer for the location is associated with the sales order. The status of the primary customer must be active. You cannot add a location to a sales order if the primary customer for the location is not active. For information about primary customers, see the Locations (SP) help.
The customer charge account and customer cost center for the location are added to the sales order.
The service address for the location is added to the sales order. For more information about associating a location and service address, see the Locations (SP) help.
A location for an asset that you add can be added to the Asset field, if there is a location associated with the asset.
The service address for the new location is copied to the sales order.
You might have modified the service address for the location that you replaced. If so, you can choose whether to keep the modified service address or use the service address of the new location.
The new location might be associated with a different customer than was associated with the original location. If so, you can change the location only if you first remove the price schedule applied to the sales order.
The customer charge account and customer cost center for the new location are copied to the sales order.
For information about the association between a service address and a location, see the Locations (SP) help.
