Solution classifications

Solution classifications identify and characterize similar solutions. You can add a classification to a solution on the Solution tab of the Solutions (SP) application.

Classification types

There are two types of classifications, global classifications, and customer-specific classifications. Because solutions do not use primary customers, only global classifications can be added to a solution, even if the solution is associated with one or more customers that have customer-specific classifications defined. Customer-specific classifications cannot be added to solutions.

Attributes of solution classifications

Attributes define the characteristics of a classification. When you classify a solution, attributes of the solution are copied to the Specification tab.

There are two types of attributes, global attributes and customer-specific attributes. Solutions can only use global attributes, even if the solution is associated with a customer and customer-specific attributes exist for that customer.
