Create a ReleaseA release is a type of work order that involves a set of bundled changes to items or assets that are tested and introduced together to a live environment. An example of a release is an upgrade of the operating system used on 1000 corporate laptop computers.
You can create a release in the Service Requests (SP) application. You might do so if resolving the service request involves releasing a set of bundled changes to your users. Creating a release from a one of these record types links the release as a follow-up to that record.
In the Service Requests (SP) application, display the record for which you want to create a release.
From the Select
Action menu, select Create > Release.
The system creates the release record and gives it a status of waiting
on approval (WAPPR). You see a confirmation message with the identifier
of the new release record.
You can view information about the record on the Related Records tab.
You can also view the record in its application.
