Related Records Tab

You use the Related Records tab to create, view, or navigate relationships among service requests, incidents, problems and other records.

When you use the Related Records tab to relate records, you relate them for informational purposes only. These relationships can be many-to-many, and do not represent record hierarchies. Unless they are related to a global record, there is no inheritance of status or other linkage between the current record and service requests, incidents, and problems on the Related Records tab. However, the tab gives you an easy way to view and navigate among these informally related records.

You can view other types of related records on the Related Records tab, including globally-related records, an originating record, and follow-up records. In some cases, there can be status inheritance between these records. For more information, see the links at the end of this topic.

The Related Records tab contains the following table windows:

Related Tickets: to relate, view, or navigate relationships between the current record and other service requests, incidents, and problems.

Related Work Orders:  to relate, view, or navigate relationships between the current record and work order records. When you have a relationship between tickets and work orders, work orders can potentially update the status of related tickets. For more information, see the links at the end of this topic.

For information about a field, place the cursor in the field and press Alt + F1.
