Take Ownership

The owner of a service request is responsible for managing the work associated with that service request. You can either select an owner of a service request or take ownership yourself.

To take ownership of a service request:

  1. In the Service Requests (SP) application, display the record for which you want to take ownership.

  2. From the Select Action menu, select Take Ownership. The system assigns the logged in user as the owner and changes the status of the record to QUEUED. (The exception to this occurs if the status is RESOLVED; in such a case, the status does not change.)

Note: After taking ownership of the issue, you might start the timer, so you can capture time spent working on it.
