Service Address (SP) ApplicationYou use the Service Address (SP) application to create, view, modify, and delete service addresses for customers. A service address can represent one or more physical locations for a customer. It contains detailed location information that helps you to assign the correct resources when you provide service or support to a location.
Associate a service address with a location in the Locations (SP) application. When a person or process creates a ticket or work order for a location, Maximo copies the service address for the location to the ticket or work order. If the location does not have an associated service address, Maximo copies the service address of the closest ancestor in the address hierarchy.
Service addresses contain general or detailed location information, such as the following:
"300 feet behind large red outbuilding"
"Mile marker 584"
" +42°30'39.57"N -71°14'39.96"W"
Note: For geographical coordinates, the plus (+) sign is used for North latitude and East longitude. The minus (-) sign is used for South latitude and West longitude.
After you create service addresses, you can use them to search address-related records. See the following search examples:
Search for address by address element (for example, Street Address, Building, Locality, Country)
Search for address by location that uses the address (for example, address for location BR400)
Search for locations that use a service address (for example, locations for service address Tree Line Mall)
Address codes are unique to an organization and are available to all locations at all sites in an organization.
The Service Address (SP) application contains the following tabs:
List: to search Maximo for service addresses.
Addresses: to create, view, modify, or delete service addresses.
