Service Item StatusesYou can manage a service item's status for all related records. The system uses a set of inheritance rules to apply changes to a service item from a higher level to a lower level. In the Service Item (SP) application, a change to a service Item status is applied to the organization level.
The following status types are available:
Pending – Service items are not available to the system when you attempt to record selected General Ledger (GL) transactions. Service items in Pending status are not visible from Service Item Lookups. This status applies to the following GL transactions:
Material Use Transactions (MATUSETRANS)
Material Receipts Transactions (MATRECTRANS)
Inventory Transactions (INVTRANS) except for Insert Item (INSERTITEM)
Planning – Service items are not available to the system when you attempt to record selected GL transaction. This status applies to the following GL transactions:
MATUSETRANS
MATRECTRANS (Issue, Transfer, or Receipt types, only)
Active – These service items are available for full system capabilities.
Pending Obsolescence – You can use any existing service items, but cannot replenish existing balances.
Obsolete – You cannot use these service items in the system, except to generate invoices. Items in Obsolete status are not visible from Service Item Lookups.
