About Price QuotesAbout Price QuotesYou can add a price quote to a work order in the Work Order Tracking (SP) application. There are two types of price quotes you can add:
fixed price quote
"not to exceed" price quote
You cannot add a price quote to a task.
The price schedule associated with the work order specifies whether you can apply a price quote to completed work. If the price schedule on the work order allows price quotes, the price quote is considered when the bill is calculated.
To allow price quotes for work, the Allow Price Quotes? check box on the associated price schedule must be selected. View the price schedule in the Customer Agreements (SP) application.
To add or modify the quote type and the quote price for the work order, use the View/Update Price Quote action in the Work Order Tracking (SP) application.
If there is a current quote type and price on the work order, and you change the price schedule to one that does not allow price quotes, price quotes are not considered when the bill is calculated. The current price quote information is cleared and the original price quote information is retained.
If you apply a fixed quote and quote price to the work order, the quote price for the completed work is billed. The quote price can be less than or greater than the total of the line prices on the work order.
If the applied price schedule does not allow use of price quotes, the calculated costs and prices on the work order are billed.
If you apply an NTE (not to exceed) quote and quote price to the work order, the quote price for the completed work is billed only if it is less than the actual costs and prices.
If the applied price schedule does not allow use of price quotes, the calculated costs and prices on the work order are billed.
When you create a bill batch that includes work orders with price quotes, you can see information about the cost, agreed price, quote type, quoted price, and billed price. View this information on the line detail for each bill line.
