Record Ownership

You can designate an individual or a group as the owner of a work order or ticket. Ownership means that the person or group has administration responsibility for that record. Assigning ownership does not change that person or group's availability to work or to have ownership of additional records.

Ownership can change hands throughout the course of the record's life cycle. You can change ownership until the record has a status of CLOSE.

You use the View History action to see the ownership and status history of a record.

There are two ways to assign ownership. You use the Select Owner action to choose a person or owner. You use the Take Ownership action if you want to be responsible for that record.

Record ownership is not required for a work order or ticket.
