Change Status (SLA)You use the Service Level Agreements (SP) application to change the status of a service level agreement (SLA). You can set an SLA to one of three statuses:
DRAFT - When you create a new SLA, the system sets the status to DRAFT. You can leave the SLA in DRAFT status until it is ready for approval or use. Once you have set an SLA to ACTIVE or INACTIVE status, you cannot set it back to the DRAFT status. When an SLA is in DRAFT status, the associated escalation is set to INACTIVE.
ACTIVE - Set an SLA to ACTIVE when you are ready for the SLA to be used. Only SLAs that you mark as ACTIVE can be applied by other users to a record. When an SLA is in ACTIVE status, the system sets the associated escalation to ACTIVE status as well.
INACTIVE - Set an SLA to INACTIVE if you do not want users to be able to apply the SLA to a record. When you inactivate an SLA, the system displays a message asking whether you want to inactivate the associated escalation as well.
From the Service Level Agreement (SP) application, display an SLA record.
On the toolbar, click Change Status . The Change Status dialog box opens.
If appropriate, type a description in the Description field. To enter additional information, click Long Description .
In the New Status field, select a status from the drop-down list.
Click OK. The Change Status dialog box closes and the system changes the status of the SLA.
