Types of record relationships

The Related Records tab lists records that are related to the current record, and the type of relationship that exists between each pair of records.

Tickets and work orders can have the following relationship types. The current record refers to the record whose application you are using; for example, if you are using the Incidents (Oil) application, the incident record is the current record. The related record refers to the record on the Related Records tab.

Relationship Type

Description

FOLLOWUP

The related record was generated through the Create > Recordtype action in the current application.

ORIGINATOR

The current record was generated through the Create > Recordtype action, in the application that is associated with the related record.

RELATED

The records were related to one another through one of the following buttons:

  • Select Tickets (on the Related Records tab)

  • Select Work Orders (on the Related Records tab)

  • Relate Records (through the Show Similar Tickets action)

  • Relate Records (through the Detail Menu)

Tickets can also have the following relationship types:

Relationship Type

Description

ISGLOBAL

The related record is a global incident or investigation record.

RELATEDTOGLOBAL

The related record was associated with the current record through the Relate Records to Global Issue button in the Show Similar Tickets action.

RELATEDTOLOCAL

The related record was associated with the current record through the Relate Records to Local Issue button in the Show Similar Tickets action.

RELATEDTOREGIONAL

The related record was associated with the current record through the Relate Records to Regional Issue button in the Show Similar Tickets action.
