Create Meter ReadingsCreate Meter ReadingsUse the Create Meter Readings dialog box to create meter-reading records in the Maximo database from the imported meter readings that reside in the PLUSTMTRIMP imported transactions table. Meter readings in this table are from an external source, such as a fueling station. After you create meter readings successfully, the meter-reading records reside in the meter-readings table for the associated asset or consist record. Imported meter readings that have had system meter-reading records created from them are flagged by the system as reading-created in the PLUSTMTRIMP table.
The Create Meter Readings action attempts to create meter-reading records in the Maximo database from all meter-reading records in the Imported Meter Readings table. The system attempts to create a meter-reading record in the Maximo database only if the Reading Created flag for the row is set to No, which indicates that no Maximo meter-reading record has been created yet. The Reading Created check box is selected after you create a meter-reading record in the Maximo database.
From the Select Action menu, select Imported Meter Readings > Create Meter Readings.
On the Create Meter Readings dialog box, select the Ignore Warnings check box to create meter readings even if they generate a warning.
For example, the system generates a warning if a reading exceeds the capacity or daily limit specified for the meter. If you select Ignore Warnings, this kind of reading still would be created. If you clear the Ignore Warnings check box, this kind of reading would fail the reading-creation process.
Select the Run Process in Background check box to run the meter reading creation process in the background. When you run the process in the background, you can continue to use the system while it creates the readings. Clear the check box to run the process on screen.
Click Create Readings to begin creating meter-reading records in the Maximo database. Click Close to return to the previous page without creating meter readings.
After the system creates meter readings, the fields on the Create Meter Readings dialog box display statistics about the created meter readings.
Click Close to close the dialog box and return to the asset or consist record.
Note: You can select Imported Meter Readings > View Imported Meter Readings from the Select Action menu to view the Imported Meter Readings (PLUSTMTRIMP) imported transactions table. The View Imported Meter Readings dialog box shows all meter readings in the PLUSTMTRIMP table. The meter readings can be in any of three states:
imported meter readings that have not been acted on
imported meter readings that have had meter-reading records created in the Maximo database from them (the Reading-Created check box is selected)
imported meter readings that failed the Maximo meter-reading creation process (values are in the Failure Type and Failure Reason fields)
