Managing high-availability groups

IBM Spectrum Connect implements VMware's high-availability architecture for multiple VASA providers.

Multiple Spectrum Connect instances that manage the same storage system can be combined into high-availabilty (HA) group for VASA provider redundancy. The HA technology is implemented in the active/passive mode. In this mode, one Spectrum Connect acts as active and the other acts as standby for transfer of responsibility if the active Spectrum Connect fails or becomes unreachable, as illustrated below.
